new visions in conversation

Never forget that justice is what love looks like in public.
— Cornel West

We are happy to share with you our first blog post and introduce a series “new visions in conversation”. Why?

Because we learn from stories, from conversations, from sparkles of energies that catch us and open new possibilities in our lives. We also learn from stillness and silence that help us absorb and contemplate on these sparkles and integrate them into our ever-changing beings. As new visions, we are committed to work that transforms, reconnects, enables us to experience our interconnectedness, and act accordingly. We know that there are no one-size-fit-all solutions and that transformational leadership can mean, look, and be practiced in a myriad of different ways.

At the closing circle of our New Fellows Retreat with Echoing Green, in June 2019, listening to who we were already considering our friends I was thinking about how Echoing Green creates structures of love and care that challenge structural oppression and systemic violence and contribute to a cultural shift towards justice. And we want to contribute to this shift too. As part of this commitment, we will have conversations with people who embrace kindness, loving, and caring approach as an integral part of their work and everyday practices and weave it into organizational structures. Persons that can become our role models for leaders that we want to become and/or see in the positions of power. Especially in times when so many of our leaders spread fear, hatred and injustice.

While being aware that transformational leadership can mean many different things, we also know what kind of transformation we want to contribute to. Loving, caring, inclusive, and just transformation that works against separation we are socialized to believe, that values difference and celebrates it; a transformation that brings us closer to one another and acknowledges our interdependence. And we see many courageous and wonderful humans that in practice work towards this transformation every day, staying connected with their communities and environments. Collective leadership is something to be learned by walking the road, through trust, curiosity, and openness towards challenges and difficulties.

In conversations with courageous and caring leaders we want to learn, and examine how nurturing relationships can enable us to break through walls that are built around our imagination, how they can enable us to dream wildly, and imagine ourselves the worlds we believe are possible.

Cornel West talks about the much needed spiritual and moral awakening among all the people who care. We see our role in building bridges, creating space for love and connection, and recreation/reconnection of the community of earthlings. While birthing the new world will be surely painful, we trustfully go this direction - as we cannot stay still.

We are inviting you to a series of conversations - we will talk about love and justice, truth and power, and paths to spiritual and political awakening, and we could not be more excited.

If there are any persons that you think we should approach - we are open for recommendations!

Stay happy, stay healthy and take care,
