I am originally from the Netherlands, where I graduated from Utrecht University this year. I followed an interdisciplinary study called Liberal Arts and Sciences. In this study, I looked at many different research disciplines varying from policymaking to gender to intercultural communication and back. This broad background allows me to look beyond disciplines and see how they are related and contribute to each other. This is what initiated my interest in education. I worked as an education assistant in high schools where we learn as a team. There lies strength in learning with each other. This has made me aware of the importance of groups in education and how they can strengthen themselves.

My passion for (inclusive and representative) art is a result of my values and experience. I worked for multiple cultural festivals. At the beginning of my studies, I was on the board of Stukafest, an interdisciplinary cultural festival where students were introduced to art in an accessible way. I was also in an organization called SpelenderGrijs where we tried to build a bridge between older and younger people to give cultural workshops at care homes. At the moment I am a producer for the Queer Film Festival Utrecht. This festival takes representation into account and invites makers who visualize an inclusive society in their art. These experiences have led me to realize the importance of art. I believe that art can create a space in which we can imagine a world we want to live in. This is the base for the outside world. People who perform in art have a responsibility to make it more inclusive, better and represented. All worlds are intertwined.

At new visions, education and art are combined and I think this is very important. That is why I am eager to start working for new visions and to learn together as a community!
In my free time, I like to be active, I participate in all kinds of sports, variating from bouldering to tennis, I like to go to the cinema or to have good conversations with my friends.
